Who’s In Charge?

I am in charge of my mind and I choose to subject it before the Lord, taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ!  Christ in us is the Holy Spirit in us, the Anointing, the Christ.  This is being Subject to the Holy Spirit.

The word subject began as a Verb, it’s an action and means to throw down under.

Sub – meaning under + Ject – to throw.

When we Subject ourselves before the Lord, we then – throw ourselves down – under His authority.

One who does this, humbles himself under God’s authority and is then, Subjective.  When we add the “ive” to the verb subject, we describe someone, and turn the word into an adjective.  So one who is Subjective is one who subjects himself.

When a King passes by everyone is supposed to bow their head, or kneel before Him until He leaves or tells you to rise.  If you leave His Presence, you back out in a bowed position, you do not turn your back to the King.

We can take this word – Subject – and make it into a noun.  People who subject themselves under the Kings authority are the King’s Subjects.  Because they are subjective in the Kings presence.

Object, begins as a verb and means – to Throw Up Against.  Ob – means “Up Against” and Ject –  still means “To Throw”.

So if a person Objects to someone or something someone says, he is rejecting that person’s reasoning.  He raises an Objection to something the person says and replies, “I Object”

When a person calls himself objective, or says he is using his objective reasoning, he considers himself to see from a perspective that is irrefutable.  Because in his own mind he sees without error and is in himself a solid rock.  He thinks he sees from a vantage point that cannot be challenged.  That he sees clearly and must be high enough to see all, so that he doesn’t miss anything.  And at the same time see everything microscopically, or there may be error there also.  Because if he doesn’t see everything, and see everything clearly, what he doesn’t see might alter the final judgement of a matter.  This man is not merely interpreting God’s word but is judging it.  To interpret something means you are taking what you “know” to be true and putting it into words someone else can understand.  But first you have to “Know” what the author was meaning, what His thoughts were, when He said them.  When we know what He was thinking when He stated something we then can look for words to say so another person can also understand.  “No one knows the thoughts of God but the Spirit of God.”  And the only way we can be sure we have understood God’s word correctly is, not by trusting in our inept ability to judge the meaning of God’s word, but we must hear and see from God’s Spirit directly or we are unknowingly building our house of faith on the sand of man’s thoughts produced by his finite mind that is subject to man’s limited ability.  That there’s some purty Shaky Ground!

Now we sometimes take words and  divest them of some of their actual meaning.  We strip them down, cut off part of their meaning and make them into Terms.  The word term means to Limit or cut off, shorten, or to make boundaries, as in terminate, or Term Limits.

When we do this we change the meaning of the word.  We cause confusion, by hiding the full or real meaning of the word, and retain only a portion of it’s meaning.

We need to look at the motive behind our doing so.  Such as in the case of using the word Objective to mean we have the ability to see things correctly because we so trust in our own ability we don’t need to Subject ourselves under, say the Holy Spirit,  thereby calling ourselves by this Term – Objective, this then, enables us to  hide from the Holy Spirits ultimate authority in our lives making it easier for us to maintain our own autonomy.

We  ruin the actual meaning of the word.

The words in the Bible represent God’s thoughts.  God is solid and sure as a rock.  Immovable solid bedrock.  All of the words in the bible fit together to give us a picture of God and give us His perspective on His creation.  The words, truths in the bible are like stones that are each shaped by God’s design.

An Altar is  where God and man meet.  God’s word instructs us that if we build an altar out of stones, we are not to cut the stones to our liking, we are to use them as they are.  God has designed them to  fit together perfectly.  However when man tries to assemble them trusting in his own intellectual ability, he will not be able to get them to fit together correctly, because his mind is finite and God’s word is infinite as it  describes an infinite, eternal God.  So His word is too wonderful for us to interpret correctly.  So what man will do is try to cut the stones of truth, and alter the meaning of the words, by terminating them, cutting them so they fit his understanding.  When man does this, God says, we only ruin His Holy word.  If you build an altar of faith, a meeting place of faith, to connect with Me, and you build it out of stones, my word, do not cut the stones you will only ruin them!  Man in his arrogance has so ruined God’s Word through the ages, so that when Jesus returns many won’t recognize Him, and He will say to them, “who are you?”  Just like when He came the first time, all the educated, who thought they were Objective, and so would not humble themselves, would not subject themselves  to the Christ as He walked in His one physical body, so now people try to “interpret scripture as if they are “Objective” and will  not “Subject” themselves to the Anointing of the Holy Spirit as being the Only Wise God, the only Objective One!

So man has subjected God’s word and His Spirit to himself as if he is God.

Certainly we should use our understanding when reading God’s word, but we are not to trust in our understanding to correctly interpret scripture, don’t even lean on it.  Rather trust in the  Father of Spirits, subject yourselves to Him, put your faith in His ability to lead you out of bondage to the term limits of your own thinking and trust in the cloud and fire, learn to lean on Him.  Subject yourselves, it is your only, private and corporate hope, to be founded on Solid Rock Truth.  Do Not believe the lie that says your mind has the ability to objectively interpret scripture.  You are always subject under someone or something.  If not to God then you have elevated either your limited brain or other men to the infallible position only God has.  You subject yourself under man’s feeble brain.  Idolatry!  Foolish Idolatry at that!
